Just in case you make a mistake...use this wonderful seam ripper and get on with your work.  Especially good for removing serged seams.  The only one of the market, that I know of, that has a finger guard and fits in the palm of the hand.  They make wonderful gifts for your sewing/quilting/embroidering friends!
